Goodbye Gamey Taste: Venison meatballs

I made meatballs for our annual holiday party to go along with all the pre-packaged items we served. They were a hit and the best meatballs I've ever made. The kicker: No fancy ingredients and a very simple setup.

In addition to a pound of ground venison, the ingredients you need for this recipe are:
  • medium onion, diced
  • instant rice (I used bread crumbs instead)
  • salt and pepper
  • brown sugar
  • ketchup
  • condensed tomato soup, undiluted
  • ground mustard (a seeming constant in venison recipes)
  • paprika
The recipe was simple: Mix the first four ingredients (up to the pepper); take the remaining ingredients, mix and create a sauce you then pour over the meatballs. Bake at 375 for 35-35 minutes.

Game-O-Meter (1 to 10, 10 being more gamey tasting, 1 being less): 2
